Tayport Community Film Club Presents: The Outrun (15), Sunday 2 February, 3PM

By 15th January 2025No Comments
The next screening of the Tayport Community Film Club will be The Outrun, a film by Nora Fingscheidt and starring Saoirse Ronan. If you missed it in the cinema here is your chance to see it on a big(ish) screen!  There will be opportunity after the screening to discuss the film
Based on the best-selling memoir by Amy Liptrot,  The Outrun portraits Rona (Saoirse Ronan), who, fresh out of rehab, returns to the Orkney Islands, a place both wild and beautiful right off the Scottish coast. After more than a decade of living life on the edge in London, where she both found and lost love, Rona — now 30 — attempts to come to terms with her troubled past. As she reconnects with the dramatic landscape where she grew up, memories of her traumatic childhood merge with more recent challenging events that have set her on the path to recovery.
Also starring in The Outrun are Paapa Essideu (I May Destroy YouThe Lazarus Project), Stephen Dillane (Game of ThronesAlex Rider), Saskia Reeves (Slow HorsesLuther), Lauren Lyle (OutlanderVigil), Nabil Elouahabi (Trigger Point, Blue Lights) and Izuka Hoyle (Boiling PointThe Responder).
To avoid disappointment please book your place early as we have limited places.
Please make a note in your diaries for the 2nd of March as we will be screening Slow West, starring Kodi Smit-McPhee and Michael Fassbender.  Slow West is directed by John Maclean in his directorial debut. John grew up in Tayport and he will be joining us for a Q&A session. More info on how to book for this screening is to follow soon.
