25 Hours per week for 6 or 9 months depending on age (16/17=9 months; 18/19=6months). Paid at appropriate level of National Minimum Wage


This is a funded position through the Community Jobs Scotland scheme administered by SCVO.

Please note, it is only open to unemployed 16-19 year olds who are not accessing alternative Government support (e.g. Work Programme). Any individuals wishing to apply must first be referred by a Jobcentre Plus or Skills Development Scotland Advisor who will determine eligibility.

The successful applicant will assist in our busy Community Cafe during its normal opening hours in all aspects as required. This will include taking orders, preparing drinks and cakes, assisting with some food prep, and cleaning. There will be on the job supervision provided by the Café Manager.

The exact tasks will be geared according to the successful applicants abilities but support to progress will be given. The Café is an integral part of the Tayport Community, but more than making nice food and drink, and providing a great place for a chat, the Café offers a place for training and volunteering opportunities for a range of people. Having a CJS employee on board will further boost this aim and enable more people to see the potential that is within them.
